Basement mini-split: restarted, outdoor coil cleaned

A basement mini-split had stopped working. It started normally on the visit; we cleaned the dirty outdoor coil and confirmed the refrigerant level.

What the homeowner reported
The homeowner reported that the mini-split in the basement was not working. K2 had serviced it before, in 2024.
What we found
When Waseem started the unit, it ran normally. The outdoor unit was a little dirty, and the refrigerant level was good.
What we did
Waseem cleaned the outdoor unit with a chemical coil cleaning and checked the refrigerant level.
The result
The mini-split was running with the outdoor coil clean and the refrigerant level confirmed good. The homeowner was told to call if the warning light starts blinking again, so it can be checked while the fault is showing.

About intermittent mini-split faults
Some mini-split problems only show up under certain conditions, such as high outdoor temperature, a dirty coil raising pressures, or a sensor reading out of range. When a unit runs fine on the visit, cleaning the coil and confirming the charge removes the most common causes. If the unit stops again, the blinking code it shows at that moment is the most useful clue, so calling while the light is blinking gets to the real fault faster.
