24/7 Emergency Heating & AC Repair

No heat, no AC or water where it should not be: we answer 24/7 and dispatch from Deer Park.

No heat on a freezing night, no cooling in a heat wave, or water coming through a ceiling: call or text (631) 414-7141. K2 answers 24/7 and dispatches from our shop in Deer Park to homes within about 15 miles across western Suffolk and eastern Nassau. We will tell you what to check while we arrange the visit and give you a time window.

Common Problems We Fix

These are the calls that should not wait until morning:

  • No heat with a freezing forecast. A failed ignitor, flame sensor, inducer motor or control board on a furnace; a burner lockout, circulator or low-water cutoff on a boiler. A cold house overnight risks frozen pipes.
  • No cooling in extreme heat, especially with elderly residents, infants or anyone medically vulnerable at home. Usually a failed capacitor, contactor or fan motor.
  • Water leaking from an air handler or furnace, particularly in an attic or above a finished ceiling. A clogged condensate drain or a frozen coil.
  • Burning or electrical smells, or a breaker that keeps tripping.
  • Soot, a puff-back or a boom on ignition from an oil burner or gas furnace.
  • A leaking water heater. Shut off the water supply and power first; see water heater repair.

If you smell gas or a carbon monoxide alarm goes off, leave the house first and call the gas utility or 911 from outside. Do not touch switches or the thermostat on the way out.

What Happens on the Visit

  1. You speak to a person. We ask what the system is doing, any error code and what you have already checked, and suggest anything that is safe to try.
  2. We give you a time window and tell you if it changes. We do not promise arrival times in minutes, because the first cold night of the season is busy for every heating company on Long Island. We prioritize no-heat calls and households with vulnerable residents; tell us when you call.
  3. Make it safe. The technician deals with any immediate hazard first, such as shutting off a leaking unit or isolating an electrical fault.
  4. Diagnosis and a price before work. You hear the cause and the cost before anything is repaired.
  5. Repair, or a safe temporary fix. Most common failures are fixed on the first visit with parts from the van. If a part has to be ordered, we will tell you and, where it is safe, get you some heat or cooling in the meantime.

What Affects the Price

  • Time of the call. Ask about after-hours and holiday rates when you call, so there are no surprises on the invoice.
  • The failed part. A capacitor or ignitor costs far less than a motor, control board or compressor.
  • Fuel and equipment type. Oil burners, steam boilers and heat pumps each have their own parts and tests.
  • Access. Attic and crawlspace equipment takes longer to reach safely, especially at night.
  • Damage caused by the failure. Water damage or a seized compressor can add work.

A maintenance plan gives you priority scheduling on exactly the nights when the queue is long, and a discount on repairs.

Repair or Replace?

In an emergency, the right move is usually to repair and get the house comfortable, then plan any replacement calmly. If the equipment cannot be made safe, such as a furnace with a cracked heat exchanger, we will tell you and help you plan the replacement rather than sell you a repair that will not last. A bridge repair that gets you through the season often saves money; our guide on emergency vs. planned replacement explains why. Financing is available through Rheem KwikComfort, with credit provided by Synchrony Bank, subject to credit approval. See financing for how it works.

"This is my second (distinct) job with K2 HVAC and I could not be more appreciative of their prompt and quality services. The first job (a replacement of my heating unit) was handled excellently by Shelby and the second (a replacement of my hot water unit) was amazingly handled by Waseem. The backend customer support is fantastic too, as Sadia is ever responsive by text and phone call. All said, I recommend their services wholeheartedly!"

Emergency HVAC: Frequently Asked Questions

Do you really answer the phone 24/7?

Yes. K2 answers calls 24 hours a day, including nights, weekends and holidays, for homes within about 15 miles of Deer Park. Call or text (631) 414-7141. We will ask what the system is doing, tell you what is safe to check and arrange the visit.

How fast can a technician get to me?

It depends on the time, the weather and how many calls are waiting, so we give you a time window rather than a promise in minutes, and we let you know if it changes. No-heat calls and households with elderly residents, infants or anyone medically vulnerable go to the front of the queue.

What should I check before calling about no heat?

Check that the thermostat is on HEAT with fresh batteries and set above room temperature, that the furnace or boiler power switch is on and the breaker has not tripped, and, on oil, that the tank is not empty. On a furnace, make sure the front panel is seated. If none of that helps, call.

What should I do if I smell gas?

Leave the house right away, without touching light switches, the thermostat or anything that could spark, and call the gas utility or 911 from outside. Do not go back in until it has been declared safe. A gas smell is not something to diagnose yourself.

Do you charge more for emergency calls?

After-hours, weekend and holiday visits can be priced differently from regular appointments. Ask when you call and we will tell you before the technician is dispatched, and you get the repair price before any work starts.

My AC is leaking water through the ceiling. What do I do?

Turn the cooling off at the thermostat, catch the water and move belongings, and if water is near light fixtures or outlets, switch off that circuit at the panel. The usual cause is a clogged condensate drain or a frozen coil. Then call (631) 414-7141.
